This site is a showcase of some of the many different areas of fashion and design in which I work, and also shows some of the available garments that can be commissioned or bought ready made.
I have sewn all my life, learning from my mother and grandmother, who are both accomplished seamstresses. During my degree at Cambridge University I made many ball gowns for myself to go to the Cambridge May balls and also began to make costumes in my spare time. After completing my music degree in 2003, I went to RADA to study theatrical costume making. The course covered many aspects of costume including flat pattern cutting, stand cutting, corsetry, 18th Century men’s wear, Elizabethan ruffs and Robartos and design interpretation. I had a fabulous time at RADA and graduated with a distinction in December 2004 and since then have been working as a freelance maker and designer. I draw the patterns, cut and make all the costumes myself and have worked for many varied productions at university, RADA and after graduating. To download my CV please click here.
Since graduating I have set up my studio at my families home in Newport, about 17 miles south of Cambridge and I have diversified into bespoke bridal wear (including the grooms waistcoat and cravat), evening wear and dancewear. As an experienced swing dancer myself, I also understand the needs of a dancers freedom of movement and also the desire to recreate a particular period or style.
Please feel free to browse all the photos and sections of my site and do contact me if you would like any further information on a particular design or picture or commissioning a garment.
